FAQ

Q: Do you only treat women?

Because my practice is focused around perinatal health, all genders that are trying to conceive, pregnant, or postpartum are welcome to book treatments. Exceptions will be made for treating family members during a home visits.

Q: What can I expect in my first visit?

In your first visit I will go over your health history form and do a full assessment prior to starting the massage. Treatment for any sensitive areas that need to be addressed will be discussed. After your massage is finished you will be given a treatment plan, along with any home care or exercises (if needed) that you can do on your own time to compliment the therapy

Q: What if I'm late to my appointment?

I will do my best to accomodate you, however it is rare that I can provide the full treatment in these cases. You are responsible to pay for the fee of the time booked, not received.

Q: What should I wear to my appointment?

During the treatment you can dress/undress to your comfort level without question. Sensitive areas will remain covered at all times.

Q: My benefits are running out. Can I buy a package and claim them before it ends?

No, you can only claim massages that you have received. After each treatment within the package, you will receive a separate receipt that can be submitted to your insurer. Any claims submitted ahead of time are considered fraudulent.

Q: What do I do if I have unused massages from a package that I cannot use?

If for some reason you are unable to use your remaining treatments, a refund will be issued.

Q: How do I use the referral program?

When someone you refer comes to Halifax Prenatal Massage for the first time based on your referral, they save $20 off their massage and $20 is added to your account to be used towards your next treatment.

Q: Do you do direct billing?

I can directly bill most insurance companies. Payment to patient or therapist is determined by your benefit plan. Please check with your company prior to treatment if you have any questions regarding your coverage.
